Today we read all about Traction Man and his heroic adventures. We were so inspired that we made our own villains for Traction Man to battle against out of classroom items, then we all wrote a description of our villain.
As part of our work about Children in Need Day we made Pudsey headbands and wristbands.
We also coloured Pudsey pictures.
We watched a PowerPoint all about Children in Need; it told us about who we can help and how we can help them.
We made a cake each for Children in Need and raised £4.80....
Yummy coconut barfi and great acting!
lots of great fun and learning today finding out about Diwali, the Hindu festival of light. We heard the story of Rama and Sita, acted it out, made coconut barfi, Mendhi hands, Rangoli patterns and read about how Diwali is celebrated in many ways.
The year 5s from Golden Gate and Grand Canyon thoroughly enjoyed their day at the woods. Making dens, campfire cooking, building swords, bows and leaf mobiles as well as playing many games; but most importantly, the children were bonding and behaving superbly. Great to see! Thank you to Miss Crooks for the great photographs!
We had a very silly morning making jam sandwiches. We learnt that we have to be very clear when giving instructions or people might get it wrong, just like Miss Leveridge did! We have also learnt that instructions must be given in the correct order.
It's been great to see and hear all the interesting and exciting opportunities that were available to all pupils last Wednesday. Drama, team building, art, design and technology and science experiments.
The pupils had to rely on clear communication and collaboration: important skills for future success.
Well done and thank you to all involved.
It was another memorable day for Golden Gate class at the woods. Thanks to Danny and Pete at Communitree, the children were able to make and cook their own calzone pizzas and pain au chocolat, use tools to carve and cut wood, make dens, play games and much much more!
Golden Gate thoroughly enjoyed their session at the woods and are now eagerly anticipating next Tuesday and the last Tuesday of the year too! Their behaviour was impeccable and they really made the most of it. Thank you to Miss Crooks, Mrs. Myers and Chelsea for helping. Miss Crooks has taken some wonderful photographs with her fancy camera which...
Great excitement on the bus to Bury! Then a very creative craft lesson making a 3D castle, followed by an interesting walk around Bury to see the castle, market place, church etc.
Lots of interesting things to do
Traction Man is here! Everest have been busy creating their own evil enemy for Traction Man using kitchen items. We will be using then to write and animate our own stories.
Great fun creating our evil enemies
After a morning of 'mini assessments', Golden Gate enjoyed designing their own pizza boxes using descriptive phrases, slogans and alliteration.
They then used their culinary skills to chop and grate then added their toppings creatively.
Once cooked, the pizzas were placed into their personalised boxes and the children enjoyed their tasty creations whilst watching Holes - which is based on the...
