Two matches in quick succession – including a trophy win!

Over the last week 17 children have played football for Holcombe Brook! All year 6 children that were interested have now played two games for the school team, last Thursday vs Hollymount and tonight vs. Tottington. We used our two pitches and had two matches happening at the same time.

It was great to see so many children playing football and representing their school.

The atmosphere on both occasions was tremendous and the sportsmanship was clear for all to see.

Tonight we played for the ‘Bradshaw Trophy’ which is like the Ryder Cup of Ramsbottom! Having previously worked at Tottington, I bought the trophy for us to play for every year.

The two sets of scores were added together and Holcombe Brook won this year, 8-6!

Great effort! Goal scorers over the games were:Connor (3), Joe (3), Lewis, Micah, Owain, Nikita, Max and Levi. Apologies if I’ve forgotten somebody but there’s been so many goals! Well done to all the children and thank you to parents and grandparents for their support.
