The pupils at Holcombe Brook are very lucky to spend time each year with The CommuniTree Initiative at 'The Island', a forest school in Summerseat. As well as this excellent provision, we are now pleased to have our very own mini forest school area within the school grounds.
Reception class were very lucky (and excited!) to be the first class...
Stonehenge Class went for an Autumn walk to Summerseat Lane Park, to look for natural ‘treasures’. They filled their bags with an assortment of different leaves, sticks, acorns, conkers and pine cones, amongst other things.

Next week we will...
A few of the children in reception class have been playing 'Police Stations' over the last few days. they have been very imaginative, using timers as 'walkie talkies', calculators as 'tablets' and setting up offices. They asked if we could set up a police station in school so that's what we did!
As part of poetry fortnight at Holcombe Brook, our new reception class performed in front of the whole school! During the week they learned the words and sign language to ‘Incy Wincy Spider’ before bravely taking part in their very first class assembly.
I am so proud of you all! Mrs Lynchey
