We use several key tools around school and in the classroom to help teach and develop core values and skills, along a pupil's Learning Journey at Holcombe Brook. 'Learning Waymarks' shown here are specific items from these tools that are relevant to the content, or activity being reported. We add this information with the hope of strengthening these values and accelerating pupil development, both in the classroom and at home. As well as several other tasks during Anti-Bullying week, we read the amazing poem by our very own Paul Jenkins – parent, governor, poet.

It really hit home with its powerful message. The children were then set the challenge of recording the poem using the school grounds as a different backdrop for each verse, edit it using iMovie then email it to the class email address

Great teamwork, super acting, amazing editing and creative filming. (If your child doesn’t appear on the video, it’s because they aren’t allowed on YouTube or are in a group with someone who isn’t. The children were also asked to email their finished version, which may mean it hasn’t made it – but we will check in class!)
