The Governors have agreed that Sex Education should be included in the school curriculum and that it is dealt with in the context of “ourselves, the family and growth”. The school nurse gives a talk to older boys and girls in Year 6. Letters are sent to parents in advance to obtain their permission or give them the opportunity to withdraw from certain aspects if desired. The Nurse and class teacher are encouraged to answer any relevant questions as would a reasonable parent.
