On Friday, the football team faced Cams Lane in the ‘round of 16’ match. 

It was a tense game but Holcombe Brook had the most possession and chances but failed to take them. With 10 minutes to go, Cams Lane took a surprise lead. This prompted a change in formation and Harry came out of goal, ably deputised by Robert, and we went all out attack. 

The pressure paid off with a lovely glancing header from Connor following a great cross from the right. 1-1

The final whistle blew and we went into extra time. We had a few more chances but still couldn’t find the back of the net. So, the game went to the lottery that is penalties!

Sadly, Cams Lane scored 4 to our 2 and went through to the quarter finals. 

Great effort and behaviour from the team who kept fighting till the end.
