Stormbreaker

Use ICT to help communicate (e.g. Powerpoint)

All children in Golden Gate are loving ‘Stormbreaker’ the ‘James Bond’ style story about a boy named Alex Rider, by Anthony Horowitz. Alex is thrust into a spy role working for the MI6, following the suspicious death of his uncle, and our pupils have thoroughly enjoyed applying for the role of a teenage spy, aiming to persuade the MI6 that they are the right child for the job. (See here for an example of one pupil’s work).

Towards the end of the week, all children were set the task of designing their own gadget that could be used by spies and had to create a leaflet, a presentation (using keynote) and a pitch to try and win over the MI6 bosses.

Even Anthony Horowitz seems impressed…

The class have earned a mega dojo due to their communication skills and teamwork; this means we have ten mega dojos now and will be watching parts of the Stormbreaker film to compare it to the wonderful book next week.

Well done to all the class!
