Tudor Music with Mr. Howarth!

Be a good listener

We use several key tools around school and in the classroom to help teach and develop core values and skills, along a pupil's Learning Journey at Holcombe Brook. 'Learning Waymarks' shown here are specific items from these tools that are relevant to the content, or activity being reported. We add this information with the hope of strengthening these values and accelerating pupil development, both in the classroom and at home. Today we welcomed our former headteacher, Mr. Howarth, to talk to Golden Gate and Grand Canyon about music in the Tudor Times. We saw images of the viol, the lute, the virginal, the crumhorn and many other Tudor instruments.

The children were also treated to a performance on several recorders of varying sizes. 

The behaviour was superb and the children clearly enjoyed their session, two confident pupils even performed a dance!

Thank you to Mrs. Geelan for organising and to Mr. Howarth for giving up his time and sharing his knowledge, and talent, with the two classes.
