Challenge yourself physically

We use several key tools around school and in the classroom to help teach and develop core values and skills, along a pupil's Learning Journey at Holcombe Brook. 'Learning Waymarks' shown here are specific items from these tools that are relevant to the content, or activity being reported. We add this information with the hope of strengthening these values and accelerating pupil development, both in the classroom and at home. On Tuesday 11th October 3 boys and 3 girls set off to St. Gabriel’s to take part in a competition to qualify for the GM cross country event at Heaton Park, representing Bury. 

It was a tough course with a steep incline to try to overcome – halfway through and just before the finishing line! It was painful to watch so I can’t imagine what it felt like to run it!

The cross country club on Mondays and the Wednesday lunch 2k club have certainly paid off looking at our results: Harry (1st), Oliver (6th), Jackson (9th), Millie (2nd), Rosa (3rd) and Ella (13th – so soon after a cold too!).

Well done to all involved and thanks to the staff and parents!
