Assembly and Awards!

In today’s assembly I talked about a newfound hobby  during lockdown – jigsaws! I showed them a 500 piece one that I had taken a picture of as it was nearing its completion back in March.

I explained that a jigsaw is like a school community and how every piece is unique but equally as important. I would love to see children completing their own jigsaw piece which I am giving to staff today; it should be bright, colourful and show off what makes each child unique:talents, likes, hobbies! I am looking forward to making a display with lots of pieces that make our school such a wonderful place to be.

A few updates about systems and rewards:

Today, staff will be filling in their first Outstanding Learner Of The Week postcard – it could be landing through your door next week! I will announce the outstanding learners every Friday in our assemblies and the reasons why they were chosen.

Our dojo point chart has started in the hall this week and Bronte (Green) won this week – just! Well done Bronte!

Another one of our displays in the hall that we have loved to keep up to date over the years is the weekly attendance bar chart but I feel under the current circumstances, we will not be presenting classes or individuals with any attendance awards for the foreseeable future.

We will however be giving out spelling shed, maths shed and times table rockstars certificates and prizes (ask your child’s teacher if you haven’t received usernames and passwords).

Thanks once again for your support and understanding, have a lovely weekend.
