Two days of writing for over 60 boys from Bury in year 6 went down very well with staff and children alike. The places were snapped up very quickly, especially when they found out it was being led by local poet, Paul Jenkins!

The children showed great confidence to perform, plan, draft and publish a piece of writing, linked to Shakespeare!

With high school just around the corner, the day was organised with one eye on easing the transition process. Recognising some familiar, friendly faces in September will be of great benefit to all the boys.

One child, whilst leaving, said, “this is just the sort of thing I needed and I would love to do it again at high school!”
