Understand how your actions impact the local and wider community

We use several key tools around school and in the classroom to help teach and develop core values and skills, along a pupil's Learning Journey at Holcombe Brook. 'Learning Waymarks' shown here are specific items from these tools that are relevant to the content, or activity being reported. We add this information with the hope of strengthening these values and accelerating pupil development, both in the classroom and at home. In Golden Gate we looked at the 7 images below and discussed which people you could trust if for example they had got lost and needed to tell someone.

Obviously the children are fully aware of ‘stranger danger’ but it was still a very interesting exercise linked to stereotypes and how not to judge a book by its cover!

We then read a jumbled story and tried to put the strips into the correct order. After that we watched the following music video which brought the two sessions together:
