Dodgeball

Play imaginatively

Adventurous and willing to try new things

On Wednesday 25th May. 7 year-six children made their way to Woodhey for our first experience of a dodgeball competition.

There were 4 courts and 2 heats. We played against 4 other schools and each time we a faced the different schools, we played three 2 minute matches.

It was a brilliant event; very fast paced and the children worked really well as a team. We won some, lost some and drew some! But most importantly, we had fun and some children that had never represented the school before (in sport), had that chance and grabbed it with both hands…literally!

The moment of the event was when our opposition had just one player left. The opponent threw it straight in the direction of Harry, if he’d have been hit, he would’ve been out. However, he thought very quickly and caught the ball – meaning his opponent was out and Holcombe Brook won the game! Huge cheers erupted and Harry’s classmates picked him up into the air!

Well done to all children involved – they came 4th place overall.
