We use several key tools around school and in the classroom to help teach and develop core values and skills, along a pupil's Learning Journey at Holcombe Brook. 'Learning Waymarks' shown here are specific items from these tools that are relevant to the content, or activity being reported. On Tuesday 17th May, nine year 6 pupils set out to St. Gabriel’s for a rounders tournament involving 10 other Bury schools. 

Match 1 was won 7-4 against East Ward. Match 2 was a 6-1 victory against Greenmount. 

In the semi final we faced CC Ainsworth and managed to win 8-5 meaning we had to play Greenmount again in the final. 

Greenmount had improved greatly and scored two rounders from the first 3 bowls and went on to score 5 rounders all together. Holcombe Brook batted well and it was a nervous wait to find out the final score. 

By just half a rounder, the winners of the tournament were…Holcombe Brook!

Well done to all the children involved, great teamwork, batting, catching, bowling and fielding! Plus a huge thank you to staff and parents. A place at the Manchester Summer Games awaits!
