After our exciting BBC Terrific Scientific lesson last week, where (with Dr Who’s help), we saved planet Earth from total darkness, we decided to test our new knowledge with some scientific problems to solve!
The children were given four enquiry questions to answer, which they had to solve independently. They then had to explain their findings in relation to the Sun, Moon and Earth.
How can we show that the Earth’s rotation causes day and night?
How can we show how a solar eclipse happens?
How can we show that shadows change length at different times of day?
How can we show how the Moon’s phases are created?
Wow this looks fantastic! I’m very impressed Grand Canyon.
