Esafety: Momo Hoax

Several pupils have been discussing ‘momo’ today and at times have looked distressed.

We are obviously conscious of creating further hysteria by sharing this post but we also feel it is necessary to make parents aware. Many children believe that the momo character can hack into games they are playing and/or YouTube videos they are watching.

It has been reported that this is infact a hoax and the children should not be concerned, however, as with any esafety matters, we are to encourage children to talk to a trusted adult if they see something disturbing online.

Thank you for your support with this. Please reassure your children that nothing dangerous can happen to them and to also ask them to not discuss the character with their peers because it can have a negative impact.
