We use several key tools around school and in the classroom to help teach and develop core values and skills, along a pupil's Learning Journey at Holcombe Brook. 'Learning Waymarks' shown here are specific items from these tools that are relevant to the content, or activity being reported. We add this information with the hope of strengthening these values and accelerating pupil development, both in the classroom and at home. Today we welcomed Jon and Ginge from Tower FM to record some of our year 6 pupils competing against members of staff in a quiz! I think the teachers were more nervous than the pupils!

5 children were selected at random and had to answer questions such as, ‘What is the square root of 9?’ and ‘What is the capital of Wales?’ etc. Well done to Nathaniel, Hiba, James, Lexie and Lucas, you showed great confidence and composure.

The same, unfortunately, can’t be said for the teaching staff; Mrs. Evans, Mrs. Myers, Mrs. Byrne and Mr. Bradshaw! With questions like, ‘What is fivesos?’ and ‘Who is the main smurf?’ We really were looking puzzled! 😯

All will be revealed during the week beginning 11th January in a new segment called ‘Top of the Class’ at 8:10 and 8:20 each morning.
