Participate in extra curricular activities

We use several key tools around school and in the classroom to help teach and develop core values and skills, along a pupil's Learning Journey at Holcombe Brook. 'Learning Waymarks' shown here are specific items from these tools that are relevant to the content, or activity being reported. We add this information with the hope of strengthening these values and accelerating pupil development, both in the classroom and at home. Our school was lucky enough to be able to send two teams to the Greater Manchester Games – hockey and athletics. Twenty-five fortunate children had a memorable day. From the opening ceremony to the reading of the results: the day was action packed! Olympians, mascots and DJs were present and many children were able to hold a gold medal that was kindly brought to the event by Nicola White.

The Athletics team finished 16th out of the 20 best schools in Manchester, closely followed by Hollymount in 18th and the hockey team represented the school superbly, winning, drawing and losing some games, but always trying their best!
