18 year 5/6 boys played in two games versus 2 Hollymount teams last night. It was doubtful as to whether the games would go ahead due to the huge amount of rain that had fallen over the weekend. 

Following the pitch inspection (two year 6 boys running up and down the pitch passing the ball to each other!). The forecast looked warm for the day so we went ahead with the matches. 

At half time, one team was 3-0 down and the other 2-1 up. By the end of the matches it was 7-2 and 4-2 defeats but all boys never gave up and finished with a smile on their face followed by a huge round of three cheers for the away team. 

The goals were scored by Harry, Lucius, Hayden and Alex. The two man-of-the-matches were both goalkeepers: Josh and Harry. Well done to all, some of whom were playing for a team for the first time. It was a pleasure to see you all pull on the school colours and represent Holcombe Brook so well. 

Sadly our game tonight vs Tottington was cancelled but we have pencilled in next Tuesday for the rearranged fixture. Fingers crossed the weather improves.
