Dear Parents,
I wanted to breathe a little reassurance into the home learning side of things, over the next few weeks. Not to overload you, this week, I’ll start with the spelling sheets. Now you’ve all had a go at it, this should help to make more sense.

Here’s a little help for the week ahead.
Year 4s – this week you’ll be asked to do this.
A digraph (di = 2, graph = write) is a 2-letter sound, such as th or ph or le, so this week, invisible ends with a digraph, but inability does not (t and y are individual sounds).
Year 3s – this week you’ll be asked to do this.
Syllables are beats in a word. Syll-a-bles = 3 beats.
The first word has 2 beats, 3 letters in each beat = cou / ple would work, or cou / sin. The next one is just one beat and 5 letters = young.
Finally, this terminology list should help with future weeks – Good luck!
Oh wow! What a massive help!! Really much appreciated! Wish I had seen this before leaving those squares blank on today’s homework…!!!
