Many of our year six were at Woodhey today (don’t worry, I’m hopeful that you will have a similar trip) which meant it was an ideal chance to carry out a local river study.Â
The year 5 children, whilst the year six have rehearsed the play on Friday afternoons, have learnt about he water cycle, carried out science investigations and created Minecraft rivers to show erosion, deposition, meanders and much more. Today we made our way to the River Irwell near Summerseat park, armed with sketchbooks and pencils, the children created some wonderful observational drawings, adding the new terminology they had learnt the week before-adding watercolours after lunch.Â
Their behaviour on the whole was excellent and the morning was topped off with football, rounders and playing on the park before walking back for lunch. Well done to all, one child was heard to say ‘this is best day ever!’
