Only 29 medals made…

…and Holcombe Brook has one, thanks to the hard work and dedication of the children, parents and staff.

The children have been engrossed within the WW1 topic and one of our projects was linked to Walter Tull.

He was a great man and his life story touched the hearts of our children and when we heard that there had been 29 bespoke medals made, we knew we had to apply for one.

The children had created an art gallery, a video about his life and also took part in a ‘no barriers’ football festival. Find out more here

It was an exciting moment when the medal arrived, along with a very special letter from his family. The Bury Times have produced a wonderful article featuring our newly appointed head boy and head girl. (See the bottom of the page). Thank you also to big ideas for the funding and resources.

Well done to all involved! If you would like to see the medal, you will find it in the foyer area.
