Today was a difficult result to take but sometimes you just have to hand it to the other team that deserved their win. However, at just 2-0 down at half time Mr. West and I still felt the game wasn’t over, especially as in the first half it had been 0-0 for 10 minutes, Daniel had had a 1v1 opportunity saved well and Oliver hit the bar from a great free kick.

For some reason, the other school had chosen not to bring any substitutes and we thought they may tire, sadly this wasn’t the case. After the whistle started the second half, we had a really strong spell but just couldn’t get it past their goalkeeper who happens to play for Blackpool. They also had a Blackburn central midfielder who was very strong, although he seemed to have met his match for the majority of the game when he was up against the superb Callum (who was awarded with the man of the match.)

Well done to the boys tonight for never giving up and showing a great team spirit. They behaved superbly and the ref said that their sportsmanship was a credit. It was also pleasing to see the guidance and encouragement the six year 6 children offered the four year 5s. We are very proud of you all.
