Today saw a new year 5/6 football team play Greenhill away in the first round of the cup. 

We started brightly with Oliver finishing from a narrow angle following a great save from their keeper. We then conceded five minutes later but Oliver again won a penalty and smashed it home. Two more goals followed from Max and Jaiden – both with wonder strikes: Max from 30 yards out into the top corner and Jaiden swerving a shot round the keeper which hit both posts before nestling in the back of the net – following great feet and an assist from Alfie T-Q. 

Half time 1-4

Charlie was a calming influence throughout, striding out from the back with purpose every time. We played some lovely football and scored one of the best goals I’ve seen from a HB team, a one two in the corner and perfect cross by Jake which was volleyed in by Alfie B. Oliver managed to grab his hat trick by taking on two players and slotting past the keeper. 

Arnie and Theo caused chaos on the wings and Bodhi made a really important save at 2-1, using his feet well throughout.

Mr Crawshaw and I feel this is one of the best footballing teams we have seen at Holcombe Brook and we wish them well in the 1/4 finals.
