On Thursday 16th November our football team set out to Goshen to take part in a league group event where the team that finished top, would make it through to the quarter finals after Christmas. There were three other schools that took part and our first opponents were St Joseph’s Ramsbottom. It was a nervy start and Samuel saved well when they wee through on goal. Once the lads settled, they started to pass it really well. Jacob grabbed two goals and so did Arthur and Tom.

Next up was Chantlers and we managed to win 3-0 with a great free kick from Jacob and goals from Lincoln and Ollie. Greenmount had had similar results and we knew a win against them would see us finish top. Greenmount had a lot of possession but we were creating chances of our own. Jacob set off down the wing and was fouled by two Greenmount players and Seth scored from the free kick with a wonder goal from the halfway line! We managed to hold on despite Greenmount winning further corners and free kicks and we are now safely into the next round!
