Amazing Athletes!

Play imaginatively

Compete in a competition

Have a sense of pride in your achievements

On Saturday morning we took 20 children from year 3 to year 6 to Market Street running track. The team spirit and togetherness was there to see for everyone as they cheered on their school mates throughout all of the events: relays, sprints, long distance, javelin, jumping and shot putt!

Every child exceeded our expectations and really pushed themselves to try and earn points for the team! If the athlete finished in the top six out of 18 schools, they would earn points and potentially a podium position.

As the morning progressed, there was an excitement building amongst our pupils and parents as more and more were making it into finals and we received news of success in the field events too. Here are some of the highlights of the morning but as mentioned above, all the children did whatever they could to help the team:

Gold medals: Seth (600m), Girls relay team (Rosie, Ariella, Olivia, Isla), Isla (long jump and 75m), Ariella (long jump and 75m). Many congratulations to Isla and Ariella for receiving 3 gold medals!

Silver medals: Maria (shot putt), Millie (javelin)

Bronze medals: Millie (600m)

4th,5th or 6th: Boys relay team (Alfie, Jacob, Tom, Reuben), Reuben (shot putt and long jump), Amelia (Javelin), Jacob (60m).

Thank you to the children and parents for giving up their saturday morning – I hope you made some lifelong memories. There are some great videos and pictures below. Massive thank you to our reserve athletes Jake and Harriet too. Overall, we managed to finish second out of 18 schools! Tremendous!
