The children have come to the end of their WWI topic and what a great way for it to come to a close with some incredible flashback writing and producing our own versions of the animated movie, ‘The Piano’, with imotion or stop motion. 

The children were hooked from the start when items from someone’s house were discovered: a black and white wedding photograph, a gold wedding ring, piano music and medals from the war. 

We then watched this wonderful film by Aidan Gibbons with such beautiful music by Yann Tiersen:

The children produced some marvellous literacy work in the build up to their narratives with flashbacks culminating with a recreation of the film using imotion or stop motion! (Video at the bottom) Thank you to Literacy Shed for the initial ideas.
