We kicked of poetry week in style with a full day of fun with the fabulous  author and poet A. F. Harrold!Â
The day started with a hilarious whole school assembly with lots of poems and laughter. A. F. Harrold then ran poetry workshops in different classes throughout the day. He answered lots of questions, gave the children lots of poetry tips, helped them construct their own poems and of course, read lots of his own (very funny) poems!Â
What a super start to the week!Â

The visit was awesome and he was made me laugh. I am currently reading The boy who ran away from the circus (to join the library), I like the way he describes events to make them funny such as the loft part. My favourite character is Fizzlebert because he has an odd life that is fun. I enjoyed it when he stuck his head in the lion’s mouth even though the lion had false teeth. I wouldn’t like to live in a circus as you have to keep moving from place to place and I like to be at home. When the author writes the book it is as if he is talking to you and I like that personal touch. I am looking forward to reading the rest of this book.
Review on Fizzlebert Stump. This book is very entertaining, interesting and has good illustrations. My favourite character in the book is the mind reader because he is clumsy and got brought out of the subject of history, to do tricks. I would not like to live in a circus because i will not know what is happening in the real life. This book is beautifully written and very entertaining.
I am glad you are enjoying the book Joe, and well done on your review!

At the moment, in Grand Canyon we are reading Fizzlebert Stump the boy who ran away from the circus (and joined the library). It is an excellent book about a boy found a book that had been left by someone watching his act (which is to stick his head in lions mouth)and Fizz is told that it is from a library. he goes to take it back and meets some very bad people! One of the good things about the book is that A.F Harold actually talks to the reader. Personally my favourite character is Mrs Stump (Fizzlebert Stumps mum) because she is a clown she seems funny and serious at the same time. My favourite part of the book is the part when Fizzlebert has a history lesson and completely changed the subject.
This book is good because it makes me laugh and it is a real page turner. My favourite characters are Fizzlebert Stump , Kevin , Mrs Stump and Mr Stump because they are the funniest ones out of the book (especially Fizzlebert Stump). I don’t think I would like to live in the circus because I wouldn’t have any friends (except for a seal and grown ups)
It is a very good cliff hanger book . My favourite characters are Fizz and Kevin because they don’t judge people. I would not like to live in a circus because I could end up like Fizz and not be very street wise.
