What a fabulous morning at Castle Leisure! 21 schools, 84 boys and 84 girls all trying their best at a range of strokes for their respective schools. There were four heats and we were lane 3 of heat 2. The girls started things off with some confident individual performances and the boys also did the school really proud. They went on to have even more success in their mixed and freestyle relays. The top six schools went through to the final event which was an 8 leg freestyle where all 8 pupils had to swim 25m. 
Holcombe Brook received the news that we had made it through after topping our group. We were drawn in lane 4 and we knew it was going to be tough! We were neck and neck with a few other schools with two legs to go  ut we managed to take the lead and win by half a length!

It was truly fantastic to watch them cheering each other on. The children really improved throughout the morning with one boy saying, “I think I’m going to join a swimming club!”
