Sensory Garden Additions

Lead roles / setting examples: Charity work, Buddies, School Council, Eco-team etc

Following money raised by the t-shirt website and a toy sale carried out by brothers, Noah and Jack, I was able to take the previous and current head boys and head girls to Summerseat Garden Centre to purchase some plants for the sensory garden. The children listened carefully to the advice and shared thoughts on what they thought would be the most appropriate. We made our purchases and added them to the seating planters along with some other plants that have been donated over the recent weeks.

We have also planted bulbs in the border next to the car park and have plans to plant many seeds that have also been donated. This week has seen some exciting developments with the possibility of some funding and projects carried out by United Utilities as well as a company called The Hargreaves Foundation who have expressed an interest in funding phase 2 of the sensory garden with up to £15,000  (our bid has been submitted and we are awaiting news of its progress).

Although the sensory is not the finished article, it is vast I’ll bringing a lot of pleasure to the children and is being used regularly.
