Represent the school in some way

…..And Breathe! Wow! What a game that was this evening!

End to end, entertaining, exquisite football (despite the long grass!) and 16 goals in 50 minutes!

Holcombe Brook went 1-0 up after just a few minutes with a good finish from Harry after a great cross by Joe – we went in at half time, 4-2 up after further goals from Oliver, Joe and Henry on his debut. The second half started like the first and we scored straight away again.

5-2 with 17 minutes to go and the management team were feeling confident – we were beginning to think that this could be our year for a boys’ football trophy; having not won one for 15 years since Kieran Trippier was at the school!

We knew Unsworth had an excellent team, with a Manchester City player amongst their ranks and perhaps we were fortunate to have such a lead. 3 quickfire goals saw the scores level but we kept going. At 7-7 it could’ve gone either way but Unsworth seemed to have the momentum and snatched a couple of late goals to qualify for the second round.

Good Luck to Unsworth and thank you to our parents for your support with transport and on the sidelines!
