15th October 2021Our year 6 children are excellent ‘buddies’ to the children in reception. When they first started they wrote letters to the children starting school to welcome them to Holcombe Brook. They often come in to visit them and this is something the reception children really look forward to.

15th October 2021The children in Reception Class loved their first Now Press Play audio adventure. They listened to the Transport story and took part in the interactive story.

15th October 2021Reception class have been learning about African-American artists, Alma Thomas, for Black History Month. They created collage and watercolour paintings in the style of Alma Thomas. Click Here for Reception Artwork

15th October 2021Our new reception children, in Stonehenge class, have had a brilliant first half-term at Holcombe Brook and have settled in really well. They are learning how to explore our wonderful environment, both indoors and out, making lots of new friends and are already a big part of the Holcombe Brook family. 30th October 2020Children have been learning about the Russian abstract artist, Kandinsky. I’m sure you will agree that the watercolour paintings, inspired by Kandinskys artwork, that reception produced are fantastic!

30th October 2020This term in Stonehenge class, children have been learning about magnets. Following taught sessions, children explored the magnets by sorting materials, looking for magnets in the environment by testing and making robots using magnetic materials.

30th October 2020We are so lucky to have a wonderful mini forest school on the school grounds. Each week the children in reception are given the opportunity to play in the different areas such as the mud kitchen, bug hotel and music corner. In addition they can take part in different adult let activities.
