Year 4 recently designed and created Egyptian canopic jars out of clay.

Taj Mahal Class have been all about the Stone Age this term. Today, we became stone age cave dwellers and made our own paint from chalk and water, made our own paint brushes out of sticks and made hand prints with (possibly) locally foraged charcoal. Here's the result!

Year 3/4 have been studying the work of Aaron Douglas, a Harlem Renaissance watercolour painter who was famous for portraying black culture as vibrant and full of potential. A pioneer of his time.
Well done to all of our children in developing the watercolour skills to paint in his style. Such lovely pieces!

This half term we are studying the works of William Morris. We have been learning about his repeated patterns and how he created beautiful patterned wallpaper. One of our parents is a nurse on the Rochdale Outpatients Ward and asked if we could send over any pictures that the children had created; we were only too happy to oblige and it sounds like they have been a big hit with the patients attending the ward.
