Narrow loss against Tottington

Holcombe Brook 2

3 Tottington

Holcombe Brook hosted the ‘Bradshaw Trophy’ this year – Bury Schools very own community shield!

At half time, Tottington were well in front – 3-0 after some impressive attacking play (up hill too!).

Holcombe Brook had it all to do but came out all guns blazing in the second half with Joe scoring a volley from 20 yards out. 5 minutes later, Joe had a mazy run and picked out Harry at the back post; all he had to do was head it in from on the line but he used his hand instead! That would’ve made it 3-2.

However, 5 minutes later, Nathan had a great chance and buried his effort with a side footed volley. 3-2!

If there had been another ten minutes I think Holcombe Brook may have gone onto win.

There are two friendlies next week for the boys (Monday at Hollymount and Friday at OLOL) and one for the girls (Friday at OLOL).

Below the children eagerly await the news of the mvp awards (1 for each school, in each half)  1st half was Jackson and the 2nd half, Joe!

Well done to all who took part. The Bradshaw Trophy now stands at 3-3  in the series between the two schools.
