KS2 tuck shop and games uniform

A couple of reminders for parents of year 3,4,5 and 6 children, following text messages today and earlier in the week.

-Our tuck shop will be up and running again for key stage two children starting tomorrow. They will be able to grab their snack from a tray inside their classroom on their way out to play this year due to the situation. To make it easier for staff and to reduce the time children have to wait, if you can send £1.50 in each Monday that will cover them for a snack each (PTA toast on a Friday may return later in the year). Thank you to Mrs. Byrne for sorting – all profits will be going towards brand new reading books for key stage two children. The snacks available will be snacks that we know the children have always enjoyed but you can contact Mrs. Byrne for any further details or send in your own if you’d prefer.

– Our sports coaches will be returning this week. KS2 PE with Mr. Cowling takes place throughout the day on Tuesday and games on Fridays 2-3pm with KS2 staff and Mr. Davies. All children should wear their games uniform:sensible trainers, plain black joggers or tracksuit bottoms (if hot then plain black PE shorts are fine too), the t-shirt which is the correct colour for their house (red, yellow, blue or green) and a maroon hoodie. No other uniform is required to be brought in for them to change into. They come in their games uniform and go home in their games uniform. This was introduced last year and at least 30 minutes each day was saved by not having to get changed, trainers and kit wasn’t getting lost and the older children in particular weren’t needing to find a more private area to get changed. Your child will find out which sport they will be doing first soon and it will be a different sport each half term.

If you are a parent of a child younger than year 3 and wondering why the above doesn’t apply: we are still expecting key stage one and early years to be receiving fruit from the government hopefully and it was felt getting changed for PE and back into their uniform was a skill that should be practised.

Thank you as always for your understanding and support with the above.
