An earthquake in Bury?

Last Friday, 62 children went to Robinwood which meant there were 38 children from three different classes behind for the day.

During wet playtime, the children were in the ICT suite and Mrs. McLeod and Mrs. Bather were busily creating a scene in Mr. Bradshaw’s classroom as though there had been an earthquake:news report on screen, caution tape and some  furniture upside down!

I had told the children that Mrs. Evans had an important message and it was crucial we got back to class ASAP!

When there I explained there had been an earthquake in the area and we had to take action. I quickly revealed that it was in fact an earthFAKE! However the children still produced incredible presentations and posters and learnt some new vocabulary:tremor, Richter, seismic.

There was a real buzz amongst the groups that contained Year 4,5 and 6 children and they presented their powerpoints very confidently. Well done to all the children, I hope you enjoyed learning about something that was new to you all and a one off session to cater for three year groups.
