Well done to our two boys’ football teams that took part in tournaments last Thursday from year 4 and year 5/6. In the morning the year 4 boys started confidently with two convincing victories in their group games as well as a draw which saw them top their group. In the semi final, they faced Heaton Park and despite going 1-0 up, we conceded a late goal but managed to win the penalty shootout 4-3. In the final against OLOL we unfortunately lost 3-1 but the boys should be really proud of their second placed finish out of all the schools in Bury! A great achievement.
In the afternoon, the older boys had the same outcome with two wins and a draw but missed out on the semi finals on goal difference!
It really was a fantastic day and the quality of football was brilliant to watch! Some wonderful goals, great passing and defending and superb goalkeeping too! Well done to all 13 boys for their amazing behaviour and team spirit throughout!
