Not that the 10 pallets have arrived, each class (and nursery too) will be in charge of creating one layer of ‘Holcombe Bug Hotel’. Which will be the first addition to our sensory garden. Please send in the following:
- Strips of wood
- Straw
- Moss
- Dry leaves
- Woodchips
- Old terracotta pots
- Old roofing tiles
- Bricks, preferably those with holes through them
- Old logs
- Bark
- Pine cones
- Sand
- Soil
- Hollow bamboo canes
- Dead hollow stems cut from shrubs and herbaceous plants
- A sheet of roofing felt
- Planks of wood
- Whatever else you can find – preferably natural materials
After that has been completed. The children will be painting their own rocks which will form part of a border so that they can all be ‘part of our garden’. If anyone can send in any large pebbles/smooth stones then please do.
