Thank you to Mobina for all her hard work to organise another memorable day: Eid Celebrations. The children were treated to some delicious home cooked food, henna and dancing to Jai Ho. Over £300 was raised for school which is a tremendous achievement. The children and staff looked amazing in their bright clothes! Thank you to everyone that contributed. Here are...

Many of our year six were at Woodhey today (don’t worry, I’m hopeful that you will have a similar trip) which meant it was an ideal chance to carry out a local river study.  The year 5 children, whilst the year six have rehearsed the play on Friday afternoons, have learnt about he water cycle, carried out science investigations and...

A great effort by all 14 boys tonight and a big thank you to Mr. Crawshaw for organising the event and the parents for transporting and cheering them on. The main thing tonight was that the boys grabbed the opportunity with both hands and got better and better.  The two teams won some, drew some and lost some with one team...

On Friday we were lucky enough to welcome Jack Nicklin, Ramsbottom United Girls Development Officer, to Holcombe Brook. He coached the girls squad at lunchtime and after school as well as the year 4 girls during their games lesson. All the girls thought the coaching was of a very high standard and will no doubt benefit during the final weeks...

19 children from year 3-6 set out to the Bury AC running track on Saturday 22nd June and represented the school and their families superbly. Confidence. Talent. Teamwork. It was an absolute joy to watch and so many parents said exactly the same thing.  Results we are aware of: an amazing gold medal for our youngest athlete Amelia (60m), Silver...

A great time was had by all and the outfits looked amazing. Not to mention the performance of our brand new band, ‘School Of Rock!’ (See below).  There was such good feedback from our parents and staff as well as parents and staff from other local schools!  The children showed great speed, confidence and support for their team.  Rock on! https://youtu.be/WJvScHxKUfY https://youtu.be/Sq5YugW08BM https://twitter.com/deputydbradshaw/status/1141776820276289542?s=21 https://twitter.com/mrcrawshaw_89/status/1141851696794165249?s=21

The children in Golden Gate have recently been learning about the heart and worked in small groups to dissect a lamb’s heart. Well done to all the children for their excellent, mature behaviour. Thank you to Mrs. Myers for organising.

What a fantastic display of sportsmanship, team spirit, ball-launching and daredevil dodging!  Our children did us proud at the Bury Dodgeball Competition at Woodhey High School this afternoon, winning their opening match and reaching the 3rd and 4th place final. We finished 4th overall and were beaten by strong competition, but our children kept their spirits high and gave their...

This week, our Year 6 Writers group visited Woodhey High School as a reward for their excellent attitude and standards in writing all year long. Thanks to Mikah's mum Lynsey for showing us around the Fine Art Exhibition at the University of Bolton. We looked at all the different artists' work and where their inspiration came from. If you look carefully at the portraits you might recognise someone in school!

Our Y5/6 Rounders squad did themselves proud at the Bury schools competition last week.  They worked incredibly well as a team and won their pool against Whitefield and Guardian Angels.  They came up against stiff competition in the final match against local rivals, Old Hall, losing 8 v. 6.5. I can honestly say I've never seen such team spirit in...
